- Collaboration in the planning and implementation of Alpha functions(i.e. Founder’s Day events, Black and Gold Balls, MLK Breakfast and church services, etc.
- Recognition of progress and service to and from chapters (i.e. plaques, certificates, sponsorship of events, scholarships, etc.)
- Chapter registration at past conferences and conventions for chapters involved

The Charles H. Wesley Award honors a brother who has demonstrated exceptional leadership and a steadfast commitment to preserving the historical legacy of Alpha Phi Alpha. Named after the fraternity’s 14th General President, Charles H. Wesley, this award emphasizes scholarship, educational outreach, and community empowerment—values that were central to Wesley’s lifelong work. Bro. Douglas Jones has been a true reflection of these principles, showing outstanding leadership and contributing significantly to the chapter’s success.Brother bio:
Brother Douglas Jones is a multi-talented individual who is deeply committed to helping others achieve their financial goals. His involvement in the Young Professional Group under the League of Southeastern Credit Unions highlights his dedication to the credit unions movement, while his work with organizations like the Orange Park Rotary and Knots4Kids, Inc., demonstrates his passion for community service.
Brother Jones holds a Master’s in Public Relations from Full Sail University and a bachelor’s in Strategic Communication with a minor in marketing from Flagler College. Douglas has ten years of experience in the credit union field, having held various positions, including Financial Service Officer, Assistant Branch Manager, and now Branch Manager. He currently leads one of the busiest branches in the Jacksonville market.
Brother Jones is a dedicated member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., having joined in Fall 2021 through the Sigma Pi Lambda Chapter. In 2024, he achieved Life Membership status. Since his initiation, Brother Jones has held leadership roles, including serving as Chairperson on various committees, and he currently holds the position of Financial Secretary.
